Bin the ban - solidarity with French wine on the web

My recent post linking to Decanter's article on moves to prohibit the online promotion of wine in France got some expressions of amazement. If you feel strongly about this, I don't think it can do any harm to click through and sign this petition. And pass it on. Thanks to our supplier, Sophie Morin of Chateau la Villatade, for the link. While I don't see what measures can possibly be taken to enforce any such restrictions, the principle is pretty important.
February the 13th 2008 : Promoting wine on the Internet is forbidden. The distinction between giving one's opinion or any information on wine and actually promoting wine is very subtle. This ruling of the Paris Court of Appeal threatens each and every single french-speaking website related to wine, be it a blog, an information website or an online wine merchant.
