Magpie Estate, The Next Big Thing ChardonnayRegular price €18.00
'It's going to be huge, this Chardonnay thing. Just huge.'
"Why hasn't this been done before? A bright and rarefied thing, the very quintessence of captured sunbeam joy, and an old vine Barossa classic. It's going to be huge this Chardonnay thing. Just huge."
A vibrant, full-flavoured but by no means heavy Australian Chardonnay, with clean tropical fruit character and lovely, round texture. A satisfying wine to drink on its own but with the weight and liveliness to make an excellent match for roast chicken or almost any light, savoury meal. It's certainly the kind of thing to get people talking.

Rag & Bone Eden Valley RieslingRegular price €20.00
Magpie Estate is a joint venture, which began in 1993, between famous Barossa winemaker Rolf Binder and English wine merchant Noel Young.
Get ready for fresh lime peel aromas and delicious, vibrant acidity from this typical and dry-as-a-bone Eden Valley Riesling, made from vines grown in a single vineyard high on the eastern side of the Valley. Lovely white fruit flavours but still with that zesty, citrus edge all the way through to a crisp, clean finish.
We think the label's pretty fine, too.
This rounded, succulent style of Riesling shows apple and tinned peaches in a restrained, dry and slightly savoury manner. A very drinkable style that favours fruit and freshness over excess complexity.James Button, Decanter, February 2017See the original Decanter article here
