The winery is a personal project of Rebeca Barral, who began Val de Meigas in 2016, having been involved in the family business of wine since the 1980s. The meigas after whom the winery is named are the magical and mysterious local witches of the Val de Salnès area—which may account for any supernatural qualities you find in the wine.
