The Irish Blog Awards 2009

This year the awards ceremony for the best Irish blogs took place at the Cork Airport Hotel. The chorus of praise for instigator and overseer Damien Mulley was loud and unanimous, which is only right: uniting and judging such a diverse and opinionated group of people is a significant political achievement. Thanks to vivid warning colours (revolutioncycle.ie cycling shirt with Bubble Brothers logo front and back), my larval progress through the hive was mostly unimpeded; though seeing a thousand different reflections of myself in the twitter-mosaic compound eyes of the buzzing, purposeful throng was very unsettling. It was a pleasure to meet those I did, and I'm sorry I wasn't able to say hello to more of my online acquaintances in person.
