Mas Amiel natural wines newsletter September 2022
No added sulphites in two new natural red wines from the Roussillon, a new blanc de blancs champagne, a tasting event to look forward to, and some website improvements for your shopping pleasure.
Not just desserts! New arrivals from Mas Amiel
Our latest delivery from Mas Amiel includes two new organic and biodynamic dry red wines, made with native yeasts and without any added sulphur or other additives in the winemaking process.
Mas Amiel, VDP des Côtes Catalanes Natural Grenache 2020
€25.00
Rich ruby colour and inviting, typically Grenache aromas suggesting red berries, cherries and darker, plummy flavours with a lift of menthol. In the mouth it's the juicy, rich cherry character that predominates, with smooth, velvety texture and refreshing acidity—like the intense burst of fruit from a freshly-picked ripe grape.
Mas Amiel, VDP Des Côtes Catalanes Natural Syrah 2020
€25.00
A dark, smooth Syrah, with smoky aromas that reveal ripe black fruits and the intense floral scent of violets or peonies. The rich fruit flavours that follow are generous without being heavy, and there is a savoury element to the finish that makes this a very moreish food wine.
The luscious sweet red Vintage from Mas Amiel, temptingly described here, is also back in stock—in full and half bottles.
‘The most chocolate-friendly wine in Ireland ... Very smooth and delightfully fruity - creamy blackberries and elderberries, with a slightly raisined finish ... Just perfect with chocolate desserts.’ Mary Dowey
The champagnes of André Clouet combine grande marque presentation and winemaking skill with extraordinary value. Look no further when you need a special bottle of bubbly—we've just topped up our stocks in time for the season ahead. New to the list is the 'Chalky', a very dry blanc de blancs champagne that pays homage to the 200,000,000 year old limestone soils where the vines grow.
The bottle and gift box are every bit as white as they look in the picture—a ghostly Hallowe'en gift, maybe?
We're back at Richmond House, Fermoy, An Gáirdin Rúndach, for our latest tasting event on Friday 7th October. The owners of the house aim to make it the town's 'cultural hub', so we're flattered to be invited. Join us to taste and discuss a selection of wines in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
