I haven't had time to ask our suppliers in the South of France what they think about all this, but the story's good enough even at second hand. A faction of winegrowers in the Languedoc that feel threatened by things in general have taken advantage of the change of president and are making ever more violent threats about what will happen if their needs are not taken into consideration. Now a convenient centenary has come around that some may feel justifies a bit of extra-special balaclava-wearing hoo-ha. Let's hope no-one does die as a result.
