Superstitions aside,

Two things for you on Friday 13th: Firstly, I've been asked to draw your attention to a photography exhibition, which started yesterday at Bewley's of Grafton Street, Dublin. The photographs, showing the people who work on the Fairtrade farms that supply Bewley's, will be on display for two weeks as a celebration of Fairtrade Fortnight. Admission is free. Anyone can drop in for a look, but there are some particularly strong incentives to do so: 1. Bewley's is giving away a free trip to Nicaragua including flights, accommodation, and guide. 2. Bewley's is also giving away free afternoon treats for two every day throughout Fairtrade fortnight. 3. There are also some rather stylish bags to be had made out of hessian sacks used for coffee. To have a chance of winning the afternoon treats, you must visit the Bewley's Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bewleys/60778327564#/pages/Bewleys/60778327564?ref=nf), become a fan, and post your answer to the question on the wall. Secondly, I should point out to you that Bubble Brothers' shops in Cork's English Market and at the Marina Commercial Park are full of bargains at the moment. We've arranged our annual spring-cleaning offers with a great deal more clarity than ever before, and extended the range of wines to include some established favourites and champagnes alongside the bin ends. If you call in, you'll see the offers under four different headings: 2 for €15! 2 for €20! Buy one, get a second identical bottle at half price! €10 off here and there among the champagnes! You could wrap up Valentine's Day very easily, if you go in for that kind of thing - or lay in supplies for the weeks ahead at great prices.
