Dan Lowrey's is a traditional tavern in the heart of Cork city, dating back more than 145 years. It has won prizes for its frontage nine years in a row; it has won the James Joyce award for Authentic Irish Pub and also two Black & White awards.
The name Dan Lowrey's originated from the founder of the theatre, the Everyman Palace, which is next door to the tavern on MacCurtain Street.
Among the old features in the building are the stained glass windows, which came originally from a church in Killarney and are more than three hundred years old. The bar boasts a selection of antique mirrors.
The cosy, traditional atmosphere of this family-run bar makes this a place to relax with friends and family where you will always be welcome.
