    António Ribeiro and Sara Dionísio met through dance, and in 2000 gave up secure jobs in Lisbon to make wine in António's birthplace in the heart of the Dão region. The vineyards were Ecocert certified in 1997, and in 2006 the couple began to introduce biodynamic methods. In the same year they began to manage vineyards and make wines outside the Dão area as part of the 'ALR project' in the Douro, Vinho Verde and Alentejo regions.
