2007: a winemakers' year The year began dry and the vines came into leaf early, so we were expecting to harvest at the end of August. A cool and rainy summer changed that. Luckily, good weather returned in September, and because we had managed to keep the vines healthy, conditions were perfect for ripening the fruit. The harvest took place over a period of four weeks in order to pick each vine as it reached its aromatic best. The quality of the vintage amply reflects the winemaker's labour of love in making sure that the grapes were healthy and ripe at harvest. We have achieved a balanced Sancerre 2007, with floral notes and beautiful orange and grapefruit aromas, a rich, ripe citrus fruit palate and above all, the characteristic minerality of our wines. In very short order, this is the wine that you'll be able to buy when you follow this link. In the meantime, it's the no less lovely 2006.
