And… breathe!

Even a short spell in a decanter or carafe helps to 'open up' the flavours of the majority of red wines, enhancing aroma and depth of flavour, and softening their tannins.

We now have a limited stock of graceful but practical 750 ml carafes from Bodegas Altanza in Rioja. The design is perfect for giving your favourite wines a chance to breathe, and it pours nicely too. While stocks last, you can add a carafe to any order of €120 or more from the Altanza range and get your glassware free when you check out.

If you need a unique gift, personalised champagne is hard to beat. We have offered this service since the beginning of the business for anyone who enjoys a glass of bubbly, and it's as much in demand as ever.
Now it's even easier to create a special label, thanks to some very neat technology on our website. Choose a border colour, then add a photo, logo or other image, and perhaps a few words—we'll have your bottle ready to go a.s.a.p.

Muscadet meet-up

It was a summer for squinting into the camera, so here's Julian with Amélie from Château de la Ragotière at the winery, not too far from Nantes. The harvest began there just this week, and if you'd like a refreshing taste of the Atlantic end of the Loire Valley, our Muscadet Mix is a very good way to get acquainted with a range of Amélie's deliciously dry, elegant wines.
