A mixed case of organically produced red and white wines from Château de Manissy in the southern Rhône Valley.

This is an organic mixed case with four different wines from a single estate in the southern Rhône. The reds of the Côtes du Rhône style are familiar and reliable, but the wines named for individual villages all have their own styles, and in this mix there are two red and two white bottles from Lirac, in our view a village appellation that represents really good value. These are polished, beautifully made wines, and the full or half case would make a very impressive gift for the devotee of organic wines.

By spring 2009, the entire estate at Château de Manissy was in conversion to organic agriculture. Winemaker Florian André explains why he chose to adopt the organic approach:

Man looking at glass of rose wine held in his hand

‘A variety of reasons led us to offer organic wines. Firstly, I noticed that the products I was using were becoming less and less effective—and were pollutants in any case—when our first responsibility should be to care about the land. That’s why I decided to start going organic, despite knowing that conversion to full organic status takes three years and demands much more work in the vineyard.
Ever since we took over the property from the Holy Family Fathers, we have farmed with the greatest possible respect for the environment, and we have always followed the lunar calendar in our work. Going organic was the logical final step, and we now use no chemicals or weedkillers in the vines.
I am well aware of the consumer passion for organics, a genuine desire for healthier products. Organic agriculture is good for the soil, for the planet, for our health and for that of our children. I became a father in 2009, and could not think of a better time to put our organic ambitions into practice.

One of the effects of COVID-19 is increased business for online businesses and courier companies, and this has led to delays despite everyone's best efforts.

PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME: UP TO FIVE WORKING DAYS for deliveries, though many arrive sooner than this.

We recommend that, for instance, you order as early as possible in the week if you are choosing wine for the weekend.

Any delays are likely to be more significant in more densely populated areas of the country.

Online delivery charges and times

Orders of €150+: free delivery nationwide

All other orders: €15 nationwide flat rate

(please NB delivery of 'offline' orders, those placed by telephone or personal visit, is also charged at €15 for purchases of less than €150, and is free of charge for purchases of €150 or more)

Orders received by midday Monday to Thursday are dispatched that day or the next day.

Orders received by noon on a Friday are dispatched that day or on the following Monday.

Online orders

Our online orders are delivered by courier to ensure fast and reliable delivery of each carefully packaged consignment. Because nobody likes breakages, we use very strong and secure packaging specially designed to protect wine bottles.

Personalised champagne orders are dispatched to meet your requested deadline, or otherwise as soon as possible. Please allow at least one extra working day for these orders to be prepared.

Eircodes please

The ideal delivery address has someone available to sign for parcels during office hours. This may mean that a work address is a better choice than a home address, as each delivery of our lovely wine needs to be signed for. An Eircode eliminates any doubt about the delivery location, and you can find or check Eircodes here.

Phone numbers please

Our couriers do their best to deliver and often have amazing local knowledge, but in the event of difficulties a reliable telephone number for the recipient makes all the difference and is a required piece of information. A mobile number is usually best.

Track your order

When we dispatch your order, we send on a tracking code so that you can follow your order in transit on the courier's website.

Delivery outside Ireland

If you need delivery to Northern Ireland, please get in touch for availability and rates. Unfortunately, we do not send wine overseas because of the complicated bureaucratic requirements and very high cost.

Returns

Faulty bottles

Wine is a natural product: its variety is what makes it so interesting!

Sometimes, though, a faulty bottle turns up. It's rare, but it does happen.

We want you to enjoy the wines you buy from us, and we'd like you to enjoy doing business with us too.

If you are unlucky enough to receive a bad bottle, please let us know immediately by calling the office on 021 431 6000 and we'll issue a credit in compensation.

Broken or Damaged Deliveries

Despite our best efforts to wrap and pack securely, damage in transit occurs from time to time.

If there's a breakage, our couriers will normally return the whole fragrant mess to us straight away.

If, however, the damage isn't apparent until you open the box, we'd still prefer to have the whole parcel collected. We'll send you a replacement as soon as possible.
