‘Ripe-plum, candied-strawberry and white-mushroom aromas follow through to a full body with round, soft tannins and plenty of fruit. Lots of transparent fruit in the center palate. It firms up at the end with a fine, chewy texture. Try after 2026.’
96/100 James Suckling, July 2021
‘The nose hits its mark with vibrant cherry, strawberry and licorice aromas, adding ripe plum, leather, tar and mineral flavors. A solid structure gives shape and longevity, while this red ends with finesse and harmony. Best from 2024 through 2042. 740 cases made.’
95/100 Wine Spectator, September 2021: "
‘Blue flower, rose, camphor and pipe tobacco are just some of the aromas you'll find on this young Barolo. Firmly structured and elegant, the youthfully austere palate offers black cherry, licorice, mint and a hint of coffee bean framed in assertive, close-grained tannins. Give it time to fully unwind and integrate. Drink 2027–2042.’
95/100 Cellar Selection Wine Enthusiast, September 2021
‘The 2017 Barolo Villero is delicate and lifted in this vintage, with impeccable balance and tons of class. Villero is not an easy site to find balance, but the 2017 Oddero sure has it. Sweet cherry, crushed raspberry, rose petal, orange peel and cinnamon give the 2017 lovely aromatic nuance to match its mid-weight personality. Drink: 2025-2037.’
93/100 Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2021
‘Mariacristina Oddero manages 1.6 hectares in Villero, with full southern exposure in a warm vineyard based on a fairly high percentage of clay. Comparing this vintage to the cooler 2016 and 2013, it seems that it's best suited to cooler rather than warmer years. Nevertheless this Villero shines for vibrancy of fruit - strawberry, cherry and even some dark fruits - with an elegant Parma violet aroma and a balsamic touch of rosemary. Full and tannic, more chalky than dusty, with a ripe finish sustained by almost zesty acidity, ending with a rather bloody, black cherry aftertaste. Drinking Window: 2021-2040.’
93/100 Aldo Fiordelli, Decanter, March 2021
‘The nose is fruity and offers good definition. It reveals notes of wild raspberry, strawberry, cherry blossoms and more slightly of small red plums associated with fine hints of nutmeg, with a discreet hint of toasted almond and pepper. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, suavity, freshness, good definition, a certain gourmandize as well as a mineral frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/fresh blackberry, fresh cherry and more slightly raspberry associated with touches of plum blossom, lily as well as fine hints of hazelnut, almond and a discreet toasted hint. A subtle chew on the finish/persistence.’

Personalised champagne orders are dispatched to anticipate your requested deadline (see above), or otherwise as soon as possible. Please allow at least one extra working day for these orders to be prepared.

Eircodes please

The ideal delivery address has someone available to sign for parcels during office hours, so a work address may be a better choice than a home address. An Eircode eliminates any doubt about the delivery location, and you can find or check Eircodes here.

Phone numbers please

Our couriers do their best to deliver and often have amazing local knowledge, but in the event of difficulties a reliable telephone number for the recipient makes all the difference and is a required piece of information. A mobile number is usually best.

Track your order

When we dispatch your order, we send on a tracking code so that you can follow your order in transit on the courier's website.

Delivery outside Ireland

If you need delivery to Northern Ireland, our €15 standard rate applies, with orders of €150 and more travelling free—for the time being.

We do not generally send wine overseas because of the complicated bureaucratic requirements and very high cost. If you would nonetheless like more information about deliveries outside the island of Ireland, please ask.

Faulty bottles

Wine is a natural product: its variety is what makes it so interesting!

Sometimes, though, a faulty bottle turns up. It's rare, but it does happen.

We want you to enjoy the wines you buy from us, and we'd like you to enjoy doing business with us too.

If you are unlucky enough to receive a bad bottle, please let us know immediately by calling the office on 021 431 6000 and we'll arrange a replacement or issue a credit in compensation.

Broken or Damaged Deliveries

Despite our best efforts to wrap and pack securely, damage in transit occurs from time to time.

If there's a breakage, our couriers will normally return the whole fragrant mess to us straight away.

If, however, the damage isn't apparent until you open the box, we'd still prefer to have the whole parcel collected. We'll send you a replacement as soon as possible.
