1. What the critics say ...
Jancis Robinson MW: "Very rich and opulent nose. Great polish and just the merest suggestion of raisins. Big, dry and hot on the finish. Expressive of the terrain! Good for those who seek sunshine in a bottle."
Wine Advocate: "From a hotter micro-climate, the 2010 Rasteau l’Andeol is nearly 100% grenache. It shows the massive, beefy side of grenache along with rustic tannins, lots of chocolate and roasted beef notes, and a dense, full-bodied, seriously endowed personality. It should drink well for a decade or more."
2. RASTEAU benefits from a special climate in the Southern Rhône. For the most part south facing and protected from the mistral, grenache matures especially well. The wine develops aromas of figs, dark chocolate and the texture is very dense and layered.
