Dominique Cornin, Saint-Véran 'Les Serreuxdières'Regular price €32.00
Dominique Cornin's plot in the Saint-Véran AOC overlooks the village of Chânes, its picture perfect Roman church, the Saône River valley and the rising sun. In the land of Mâcon wines, Saint-Véran belongs to the nobility.
Locally, it's considered a wine that needs time to get its bearings, and with age it will certainly repay your patience as an exquisite partner for crab or scallops—but, even in its youth, its fruity and floral aromas have an underlying suggestion of riches to come. On the palate, the characteristic liveliness and flinty edge are tempered by the rounded succulence of Chardonnays from the Mâconnais, the very south of Burgundy.
A dry but exuberant and substantial white wine that is already a treat and will continue to develop and mature for years ahead.
