Bertrand Bachelet, Maranges 1er Cru blanc 'La Fussière'Regular price €48.00
More than ten times as much land is used for the growing of red grape varieties than for white in the Maranges appellation, but its white wines are bright, floral and versatile expressions of Côte de Beaune Chardonnay.
This appealing premier cru Maranges is aged for a year in oak barrels, one-fifth of them new, before a few months in vat before bottling. Hawthorn and other white flower aromas have a clean, mineral freshness that extends to the palate—again, best described as floral.
Serve this wine cool with cold starters, plainly cooked fresh or sea fish, or hard, tangy cheeses.
