Feathering blood along the shore

On me way back from the English Market shop to the Marina on Monday, there was a sparrowhawk doing the rounds over the Customs House and environs.
I didn't take the photo, I hasten to point out.


She (I think) was scaring the bejasus out of all the other air traffic that had a beating heart, and doubtless giving the docks' rats and mice a severe fright too.
Geoffrey Hill's Genesis has some scary birds in it. Another blogger was lucky enough to hear the scary old bird himself recently.
