You may remember that I asked your advice about which label you would prefer on our new Rioja, not so long ago.

Bodegas Martínez Corta - Rioja Joven.

Thanks, chiefly, to a mention from Damien Mulley, a good few of you joined in and let me know your thoughts. A whole rosy future of interactivity with customers, competitors and suppliers flashed momentarily across me fevered imagination. Now that the comments have returned to a manageable level, er, I am delighted to announce that, after a long hard ponder, we decided to ship the classic label and look forward to getting as many of our customers as possible acquainted with this tasty red wine.     Thank you very much for promotioning our Rioja Wines in your blog. I encourage your readers and customers to taste our Young DOC Rioja Wine 2006 carefully made from Tempranillo grapes that are harvested from our own vineyards located in Rioja Alta.

    BODEGAS MARTINEZ CORTA DOC RIOJA YOUNG WINE 2006

    WINEMAKING AND TASTING NOTES.

    WINEMAKING

    FOR THE ELABORATION OF THIS WINE THE VINEYARDS ARE PREVIOUSLY SELECTED.
    THEY ARE VINEYARDS WITH YIELDS BETWEEN 5500 AND 6500 KG/HA AND THEY HAVE MORE THAN 40 YEARS.
    DURING THE ELABORATION TWO MACERATIONS WERE MADE: THE FIRST ONE IN COLD AND THE SECOND ONE WAS MADE AFTER THE ALCOHOLIC FERMENTATION IN ORDER TO HAVE A PERFECT EXTRACTION OF THE WINE COLOURS AND AROMAS.
    THE ALCOHOLIC FERMENTATION LASTED 7 DAYS AND A TEMPERATURE OF 23-26ºC. DURING THE ELABORATION THE DELESTAGE, A TECHNIQUE OF VINIFICATION, WAS USED.

    TASTING NOTES

    COLOUR: DEEP CHERRY RED. AND GARNET EDGE. INTENSE LEGS.

    AROMA: FRUITY. PEACH, RIPE RASPBERRY. FLORAL NOTES. INTENSE. VERY FRESH.

    PALATE: INTENSE, SWEET, BALANCE, ROUND AND ELEGANCE. GENEROUS AND SWEET TANNINS.

    RETRONASAL: FRUITY NOTES DURING THE TASTING ON THE NOSE.

    SERVING TEMPERATURE: BETWEEN 16º AND 17º
